Terms of service
Terms & Conditions
By placing an order with Cards for Alma, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
Commissioned Artwork
Every order is a bespoke, handmade commission created specifically for you. Each card and deck is individually illustrated by hand using traditional art materials, including watercolours, fineliners, acrylic paints, and paper card stock.
As every commission is unique, no two decks will ever be identical.
Artistic Interpretation
By placing an order, you acknowledge that you are commissioning artwork in the artistic style of Cards for Alma and not purchasing a photorealistic reproduction.
You understand and agree that:
- Every piece is an artistic interpretation of the reference photos and information you provide.
- The artist retains full creative discretion over the composition, layout, perspective, colour balance, brushwork, and artistic style of the artwork.
- Minor artistic differences between the reference photographs and the finished artwork are intentional and are part of the creative process.
If there are specific details that are essential to your commission (for example, jewellery, tattoos, clothing, heirlooms, specific flowers, meaningful objects, poses, colours, or other sentimental elements), you must clearly communicate these during the consultation and planning process before artwork begins.
Requests for changes based on details that were not communicated before production begins may not be accommodated.
Reference Material
The quality and accuracy of your commission rely on the photographs and information you provide.
You agree to:
- Supply clear, high-quality reference photographs whenever possible.
- Accurately communicate any important identifying features.
- Review consultation discussions carefully and notify the artist of any corrections before production begins.
Cards for Alma cannot be held responsible for inaccuracies resulting from poor-quality images, missing information, or details communicated after artwork has been completed.
Production Time
As every deck is individually hand-painted, production times vary depending on workload, order complexity, and seasonal demand.
Estimated production time is 4–8 weeks from the time all consultation details have been confirmed.
Production times are estimates only and are not guaranteed unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
Expedited Orders
If you require your order sooner than the estimated production timeframe, please contact the artist before placing your order.
While every effort will be made to accommodate urgent requests, expedited production cannot be guaranteed unless an Expedited Order has been purchased and confirmed by the artist.
Only orders that include an approved expedited service are guaranteed to meet the agreed production timeline.
Sole Artist Business
Cards for Alma is owned and operated by a single artist, Veronica Asuncion
By placing an order, you acknowledge that unforeseen circumstances, including illness, emergencies, family matters, or other events beyond the artist's reasonable control, may affect production timelines.
Should such circumstances arise, reasonable extensions to production times may be necessary. The artist will communicate any significant delays as soon as reasonably possible.
Social Media & Promotional Use
Unless you notify the artist otherwise before your order is completed, you grant Cards for Alma permission to photograph, film, and share your commissioned artwork for promotional purposes.
This may include:
- Work-in-progress photographs or videos
- Painting and production process videos
- Finished artwork
- Packaging
- Promotional materials
- Portfolio displays
- Social media posts
- Website galleries
- Marketing materials
If you prefer your commission to remain private, you must notify the artist before production is completed. Your request will be respected, and your artwork will not be shared publicly.
Right to Refuse or Cancel Orders
Cards for Alma reserves the right to refuse or cancel any commission at any stage if:
- The requested artwork does not align with the values, vision, or creative direction of the business.
- The commission contains content that is offensive, discriminatory, hateful, defamatory, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate.
- A client engages in abusive, threatening, disrespectful, dishonest, or inappropriate behaviour toward the artist.
- Fraudulent or suspicious activity is suspected.
- Required information or reference material is not provided within a reasonable timeframe.
If an order is cancelled before production has begun, any applicable refund will be determined at the artist's discretion. If production has already commenced, the order may not be eligible for a refund due to the custom nature of the work.
Handmade Nature of the Artwork
As every deck is handmade, slight variations in colour, brushstrokes, texture, and finish are to be expected and form part of the uniqueness of the artwork.
These natural characteristics are not considered defects.
Agreement
By placing an order with Cards for Alma, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions, as well as the Returns, Exchanges & Replacement Policy.
You understand that your purchase is for a bespoke, handmade commission and that artistic interpretation is an inherent part of the creative process.
